    SUMMARY OF POSITION :

    The Vice President, CQO, is the senior leader overseeing the academic medical center's efforts in all matters relating to the quality and safety of care. This position works to eliminate preventable harm to patients, family members, and staff, to attain unsurpassed clinical and patient-reported outcomes, and to build hospital-wide participation through transparency, collaboration, and mutual learning. Working in partnership with health system leadership, senior administrative, and medical staff leadership at Hershey Medical Center, the VP/CQO executes the system quality strategy goals for Hershey Medical Center and works to develop a strategy for quality and safety at Hershey Medical Center while leading a comprehensive quality/performance improvement program at Hershey Medical Center.

    This position is responsible for working with system quality to plan and direct the hospital's clinical quality measurement and performance improvement programs to enhance the quality of care provided at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (MSHMC). This includes minimizing financial risk related to pay-for-performance programs and ensuring the best outcomes to strengthen the MSHMC and Penn State Health (PSH) brands.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

    An advanced degree (Master's, Doctorate, or PhD) in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or comparable area of study.

    Minimum of five (5) years of progressive managerial experience in healthcare.

    Minimum seven (7) years of progressive quality improvement experience are required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

    M.D. or D.O. degree with ability to obtain unrestricted PA license to practice and a minimum five (5) years' experience in quality.

    Board certification in a clinical specialty.

    PhD or Masters prepared with minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality .
