Systems Engineer

Amentum is seeking an experienced Engineer in Arlington, VA to support our NAVSEA PEO IWS 11 Terminal Defense Systems support contract. This position will provide direct support to the PEO IWS 11 Technical Director & Engineering Development Group in all technical areas related to the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) and Phalanx Close in Weapon System (CIWS) product lines. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide general day-to-day communication, planning and technical support to the PEO IWS 11 Engineering Development Group.

• Support IWS 11.0 in the planning, documentation, generation of schedules, and other documentation required to initiate RAM and CIWS system upgrades. This includes remaining current on threat information, potential tactics, latest weapon specification revisions, requirements, and capabilities.

• Provide technical inputs in the areas of effectiveness, risks, and programmatic planning when reviewing potential avenues for countering new threats

• Support IWS 11.0 in strategic and programmatic planning to include reviewing and providing technical comments on program plans, test plans, industry documentation, failure review report outs, resource management and funding proposals for PEO IWS 11 systems.

• Provide executive leadership financial, programmatic, and technical status reports

• Assisting with the development, review, and processing of technical documentation, generation of correspondence and briefings, coordination of calendars, personnel, and meeting management support

• Actively participate in program meetings including Interface Working Group, Safety Working Group, Technical Management Team, and System Analysis Working Group meetings

• Liaison across project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and system engineering plans are communicated.

• Management of duties, training and mentoring of engineering/technical support team
