Systems Administrator

About This Role
System Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support classified information systems. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments supporting the warfighters. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and develop solutions to solve infrastructure problems. Knowledge of Windows and Linux desktop and server operating systems is required. The System Administrator is responsible for information system patching, anti-virus updates and installations, vulnerability management, and user account management. You will work with Cybersecurity professionals, such as ISSM, ISSO and IT to maintain security compliance requirements. This candidate will perform desktop support, resetting passwords, installing, network configuration and troubleshooting, upgrading applications, and respond to incidents that occur on the information systems.
Responsibilities
Setup and maintain systems support for software, hardware, and servers: test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve all problems
Manage security controls testing process, application updates and installs, operating system upgrades and patching, RAID configuration & monitoring, system backups & restoration, system image creation and disk cloning
Maintain system security requirements per DAAPM, JSIG, NISPOM and applicable procedures
Provide timely technical support for users and work with them to solve existing problems to include software issues, account management and miscellaneous computing requirements
Troubleshooting to resolve technical problems on hardware, operating systems, and applications
Work with Cybersecurity professionals on vulnerability management processes and procedures for all information systems, to include discovery and mitigation
Support Anti-virus Installation and Maintenance
Support overall Authority to Operate (ATO) activities
Coordinate incident response and backup processes and documentation
Travel to support other Textron Systems Locations, or Customer Sites (1-2 times per year)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
Hold and maintain an active DoD Top Secret clearance or Secret (Minimum)
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Network / System Administrator, with a proven track record of managing complex IT environments
Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
Knowledge of encryption devices, servers, switches, routers, and firewalls
Knowledge of network protocols, security, and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Have and be able to retain relevant certification (e.g., Security , CySA , CCNA MCSE, RHCE, etc.)
Ability to lift 15 pounds.
Microsoft Group Policy fundamentals
Working experience with, DAAPM, JSIG environments
Experience with Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, Ivanti

Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Current working knowledge and a minimum of (3) year relevant experience based on the duties described above in accordance with the DoD and/or Non-DoD security directives. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of security awareness among IS users. Strong technical, organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work in a team environment or independently. Strong interpersonal, reporting, and documentation skills are essential.
Must hold or be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 Certification requirement (CompTIA Security CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
Security Clearance:
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
Active TOP SECRET (Desired) Clearance or a SECRET (Minimum) Clearance
Have a background investigation closure date within the last 5 years
Be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access
Special Working Conditions:
Working in Closed Areas , SCIF's and work on-site (Not Remote or Hybrid)
