    As a Sterile Processing Technician I at St. Joseph Hospital, now part of commonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients. We can't operate without you.

    The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.

    CHI St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital is located Navasota TX and is a 25 bed critical access hospital. Our Medical Unit consists of 18 beds & has a phenomenal leadership team & great overall culture!

    Under supervision, prioritizes, plans and coordinates daily cleaning, processing and distribution assignment in order to make the most efficient use of surgical instrumentation and to provide support of patient care services and optimize patient outcomes.

    Shift: Saturday and Sunday 7am-7pm also Monday and Tuesday 12-830

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains surgical instruments

    • Sorts heat sensitive from heat stable instruments; manually cleans heat sensitive instruments; maintains detergents and lubricants; maintains a clean environment.

    • Precepts for departmental orientation

    • Orders supplies

    • Processes biological indicators (BI's)

    Qualifications

    • High school graduate or equivalent experience

    Pay Range

    $12.80 - $17.60 /hour
