Staff Accountant

This role's duties will require you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. To be preferred for this position, you will need to have a complex understanding Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

How you will make an impact

• Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

• Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

• Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

• Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

• Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

• Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Deep understanding of account reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Financial statement preparation experience

• General familiarity with Adjusting Journal Entries

• Well-founded grasp of Month-end Journal Entries

• Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience preferred

• Proven knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• General ledger experience

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Proficient in ERP systems

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• High attention to detail

• Recent and relevant accounting experience
