Candidates will need to be capable of rising to a variety of challenges while juggling multiple components of a fast-paced environment. Candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation, will be preferred for this Staff Accountant position. You'll be interested in this position if you want to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Carson, California area, at a company where effort is rewarded. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

What you get to do every day

• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Partake in various department-wide initiatives

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

• Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

• Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

• Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

Requirements - Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Current and relevant ERP system experience

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Month end closings experience

• Practical knowledge of Year-end Reporting

• Deep understanding of month end closings

• Well-founded grasp of financial reporting

• Month-end Financial experience preferred

• Proven knowledge of Month-end Reports

• General familiarity with Monthly Financial Reporting

• Month-end Journal Entries experience highly desired

• Expertise in Month-end Close Activities

• Vow to meet business deadlines

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Be detailed, flexible, and organized

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
