    Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a Structural Designer for Design Engineering Services. Looking for the ideal candidate to perform a variety of structural design and CAD/BIM production tasks related to permanent bridge structures as a part of our heavy civil infrastructure projects. The Designer should have 10+ years' experience in engineering plan production and be familiar with current technical tools, software, and CAD/BIM best practices. As a minimum, the candidate should be well versed in MicroStation, AutoDesk and Project Wise. Experience in Revit and/or Tekla is a plus.

    Our DES-Struct group provides value to the success of our clients' projects by designing the permanent works for bridges, transit systems and other heavy civil structures. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, MOT, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, traffic, and materials disciplines.     Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety.     Responsibilities

    • Support & manage the local KIE DES team of Structural Designers.

    • Work with our engineering teams to self-perform structural designs for permanent structures of standard bridges, walls, substructures, foundations, and other transportation structures (Culverts, Inlet structures, etc.)

    • Use MicroStation and AutoCAD software to produce designs for estimate and construction documents

    • Coordinate with other KIE DES office Design Leads to enforce CAD/BIM standards, maintain quality, share resources, and operate in a uniform manner

    • Perform quality reviews of team deliverables

    • Identify and understand technical requirements of design projects and implement, follow, enforce, and assist in developing BIM/CAD and quality standards consistent with the company and the specific clients' preferences.

    • Mentor and train early career team Designers

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years' experience in CAD/BIM design and production of structural design documents

    • Associate degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology, or similar program experience

    • Experience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, wall systems, and minor structures

    • Experience with Design-Build or other alternative delivery methods, preferred.

    • Advanced proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD (2D and 3D)

    • Additional proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, Tekla, or Navisworks is a plus

    • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and materials for structural work

    • Read and understand construction documents

    • Ability to detail structural connections for steel and concrete structures

    • Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with Engineers and Designers

    • Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan and conceptualize

    • Capable of recognizing conflicts and discrepancies with strong attention to detail

    • Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

    • Construction experience is a plus

    Base Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000

    (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
