Sr. Accountant

Description We are in search of a meticulous and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. As a Senior Accountant, you will be expected to oversee the month-end close process, supervise accounting staff, maintain a control system for transactions, and handle various accounting subjects. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to our team's efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Supervise and provide guidance to accounting staff members

• Maintain a system of controls, procedures, and forms for transactions adhering to GAAP

• Work closely with other departments to ensure proper accounting of all transactions

• Develop and implement internal controls for continuous improvement, driving quality, accuracy, and efficiency

• Prepare annual and quarterly audit schedules

• Collaborate effectively with internal and external auditors on inquiries and preparation of requests

• Handle additional accounting subject areas as assigned

• Provide supervision and oversight to staff accountants as required

• Perform other tasks as assigned in the realm of accounting.

Skills

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger

• Ability to make Journal Entries and handle Month End Close

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other related accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Requirements - Candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar position.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required.

• Extensive knowledge of General Ledger management and Journal Entries is essential.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of using it for complex financial tasks and reporting.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software is expected.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for interacting with various departments.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary for accurate financial reporting and analysis.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

• Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards is required.

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify errors and discrepancies in financial data.
