    Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

    The Spanish Translator will serve as an expert in the translation of Spanish and will translate all incoming Spanish messages as well as the translation of outgoing English messages, notices, and diffusions into Spanish as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as the on-site expert in the translation of all incoming messages from Spanish to English.

    • Translate outgoing English messages into Spanish as requested.

    • Translate notices and diffusions (Spanish to English/English to Spanish) as requested.

    • Translate other critical mission material and documents as needed (Spanish to English/English to Spanish).

    • Translate other materials that are deemed mission-critical.

    • Maintain proper case filing and documentation.

    • Submit weekly timesheets and monthly activity reports.

    • Assist with the creation and submission of other deliverables as necessary.

    • Utilize DOJ-specific tools and systems to ensure translation requirements are being met.

    • Serve as the on-site liaison for contractors.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience in federal, state, local, or tribal law enforcement

    • Must be fluent in Spanish with a focus on translation coming from Central and South American countries and Spain

    • Must be able to translate information in both directions (ex: Spanish to English and English to Spanish)

    • Required to provide proof of language translation proficiency ( via DLTP, Alta, or other)

    • Active Secret clearance

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Certified translator preferred.

    • Strong reading, writing, and computer skills.

    • Strong speaking and presentation skills.

    • Strong social, specifically multicultural skills.

    • Ability to exploit the internet and other electronic sources for the collection of open-source information.

    • Ability to work within teams as well as individually.

    • Ability to work persistently and under pressure.

    • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

    • Ability to maintain clearance requirements.

    • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.

    • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment.

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.

    • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.

    • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.

    • Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.

    • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.

    • Previous customer service experience strongly desired.

    • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
