    We are seeking a Sepsis Coordinator for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons?     Job Summary and Qualifications

    • You will coordinate the Sepsis program to ensure early goal directed therapy and aggressive management of the patient with sepsis.

    • You will lead the Sepsis Core Team for the development of protocols, review of best practices and evaluation of outcomes to enhance the sepsis program and meet the goals of the Sepsis initiative.

    • You will review the sepsis screening process, documentation of physician notification and use of sepsis orders and communicate with nurses regarding compliance with screening and orders.

    • You will review the use of Sepsis orders with physicians to increase compliance with orders in ED and inpatient units.

    • You will serve as a resource to nurses, physicians and other members of the health care team on the sepsis program.

    • You will provide and coordinate the educational programs on sepsis and tools for managing patients with sepsis.

    • You will provide and coordinate educational materials on sepsis for staff and families of patients with sepsis.

    • You will track and report sepsis data to Sepsis Core Team, Departmental and Medical staff committees to include the Sepsis dashboard and current review with identifying opportunities for improvement.

    • You will maintain accurate educational records in Healthstream.

    • You will demonstrate commitment to personal professional development by seeking education opportunities and experiences to expand current knowledge base.

    • You will serve as a clinical resource to staff and students.

    • You will maintain current CPR certification and ACLS certification.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Registered Nurse License issued by the Department of Health Professions, Commonwealth of Virginia OR Registered Nurse with "multi-state privilege" granted to them by virtue of holding a license in one of the states participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact Agreement and who has not established permanent residency in Virginia is required.

    • Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program is required.

    • Minimum of three years hospital clinical experience is required.

    • Minimum of one-year teaching experience in a hospital setting is required.

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
