Job Title: Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator

Job Location: Torrance, CA

Job Description:

Stellant Systems is looking for SQL Server Database Administrator with experience in maintaining, managing several database servers.

Responsibilities

• Manage database backup/recovery, high availability, and data replication

• Develop and improve response times of database queries by completing system performance tuning and diagnostic-related tasks

• Support systems and database patching and upgrade requirements in accordance with security standards

• Plan and execute the implementations of new data-related applications and systems

• Review and implement new database designs based on vendor or developer requirements

• Complete health monitoring activities and proactive correction of issues

• Control the security of the database systems and how users interact with the data

• Determine and implement appropriate change management policies and processes.

• Create/update documentation for new/existing maintenance and installation processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum six (6) years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience, or ten (10) years of prior relevant experience.

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the field of database administration with SQL Server databases (2012 and later) and performing the specification, selection, evaluation, testing, deployment, and operation of database applications.

• Experience in handling ERP Databases (Infor or SAP) is must

• Microsoft certification is preferred, not required.

• Advanced T-SQL, PowerShell skills.

• Deep familiarity with SQL Server tools, e.g., SSMS, SQL Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor, SQL Server Configuration Manager, DMVs, Extended Events, etc.

• Proven track record as a DBA in both production and development environments.

• Excellent skills with the SQL Server security model.

• Proven database maintenance skills (backups, index defragmentation, database integrity checks).

• Strong project management skills.

• Strength with performance tuning and scalable database design.

• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting SQL Server environments.

• Knowledgeable with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, ETL and database warehousing tools and processes are a plus.

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal & written) with people at various levels.

• Knowledge of Oracle databases & Oracle Financials is a plus

• Being proactive and work independently with minimum supervision
