  • Position Summary...

    What you'll do...

    The Senior Manager, Specialty Compliance & Ethics - Fleet Compliance , oversees the Department of Transportation regulatory compliance programs for the Walmart private fleet and corporate vehicles. In this critical role you will support the teams in assessing risk, building corresponding controls, developing training and awareness programs, and evaluating the transportation systems employed to ensure regulatory compliance. Effectively mitigating risk, implementing industry best practices and meeting the Department of Transportation compliance requirements while adhering to our Every Day Low Cost (EDLC) values provides ample space for this role to excel in developing strategies and innovative approaches to solving difficult challenges in the transportation and supply chain field.

    You'll make an impact by:

    • Overseeing the process of responding to transportation compliance and fleet safety questions, providing subject matter expertise and interpretations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as well as transportation safety and compliance best practices. Monitoring state and federal laws and regulations by researching laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; drafting and updating transportation policies and standard operating procedures with input from leadership

    • Developing the strategy for new or changing regulatory requirements by participating in trade association committees and webinars to stay up to date on changes to the business; determining the impact of regulatory changes to the business; developing strategies to address regulatory changes; developing processes to comply with changing regulatory requirements; establishing training programs for stakeholders; and collaborating with stakeholders to drive implementation of new programs

    • Evaluating and reporting on key performance metrics for compliance programs for area of focus; directing development of processes, procedures, and technological solutions to better manage risk within area of focus

    • Communicating recommendations for corporate positions on various overarching issues by reconciling research into refined message for review; formalizing statements in response to issues and concerns; and presenting impact analyses to leadership

    • Determining and supporting resource requirements; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning

    • Cultivating an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices

    • Developing and leveraging internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals

    • You have experience reviewing and interpreting federal, state, and local regulations and interacting with regulators

    • You're organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    • You're process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness

    • You are an effective communicator with the ability to interact with senior leadership and internal and external stakeholders

    • You have experience building cross-functional teams within a corporate environment.

    • You have experience in financial management and analysis

    Minimum Qualifications...

    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 2 years' supervisory experience. 3 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
