  • Job Description Summary

    The Senior Electronics Test Engineer has responsibilities extending to the design and development of test system hardware and some software within the operations environments of the Integrated Supply chain. This position will develop the electrical fixture, circuit board and hardware designs for real-time automated test system solutions for product circuit board assemblies and final assemblies of medical products for our Patient Care Solutions business. Our automated test systems ensure board level functionality to meet design engineering test specifications prior to circuit boards shipping to our factories.

    Job Description

    Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

    • Responsible to design electrical fixture circuit board schematic and layout, as well as, electrical fixture for printed circuit assemblies and High Level assemblies and test platform electrical design to develop automated tester to achieve test requirements.

    • Responsible to identify hardware in automated test system and design electrical product interface fixture needed to fulfil product test requirements.

    • Lead test system development on National Instruments based standard test platform for new product introductions, including concept, architecture, hardware selection, software/code development, prototype testing, integration, documentation, manufacturing introduction and service.

    • Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas.

    • Responsible for test coverage, repeatable and accurate test performance and on-time delivery.

    • Responsible for global collaboration with remote design engineering and other test engineers to develop common test hardware/software standardization for introduction to multiple sites.

    • Ensure early focus on manufacturability and DFT in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs.

    • Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining test cases for validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and system acceptance.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related majors

    • 4 years experience in development of automated test systems

    • Minimum of 2 years National Instruments LabView and/or TestStand experience

    • Minimum 2 years experience with circuit board and test system electrical design

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Technical Expertise

    • Demonstrated experience designing and developing automated test systems into manufacturing environment.

    -Experience developing test system documentation deliverables such as BOM, schematics, detailed design documents, qualification protocols, user manuals, etc.

    -Experience with electrical design tools such as Cadence

    Demonstrated program or project management skills

    -Lean and six sigma certification

    • Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems

    • Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks
