    Senior Cost Analyst

    ABOUT YOU:

    This role performs manufacturing cost and variance analysis for the Jewelry Products group in the Scholastic Division for the Denton Plant. This includes monthly variance analysis of production spending and production costs, assigned balance sheet reconciliations (researching and problem resolution), and assisting with development of forecast and processes, including inventory accuracy. Analyses, including standard cost development and capacity and production labor modeling, support plant operations.

    YOU HAVE:

    • Technical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access. Experience with Oracle or like ERP experience in a manufacturing environment (costing/ BOM/ Routing maintenance). Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Experience developing scorecards using Tableau and other reporting tools. Experience using Python scripts inside excel and developing python scripts. Experience developing tools with Power Pivot and Power Query

    • Organization and attention to detail. Ability to plan, organize and see projects to completion while managing deadlines. Time management/organization skills - the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.

    • Great communication skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization.

    • Experience. 5+ years' related experience.

    • Education. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Preferred professional certification (CPA, CMA).

    YOU WILL:

    • Identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency of plant financial reporting. Develop new or modify existing reports to address gaps in understanding plant operational effectiveness. Team with plant management to insure all reports are appropriate to the audience, while clearly presenting the financial overview. Improve efficiency in reporting.

    • Assist. Sr. Manager, Finance Operations to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX controls.

    • Development and updates to standard costs. Ensures accurate costing of material and production routing through development of standard cost templates. Works with Plant Controller in annual update process. Ensure proper allocations and costs between the product lines. Estimates new and proposed product costs. Ensures routings are correctly developed, and utilized appropriately.

    • Analysis. Work with production control and item setup to ensure accurate setup of bills of material (Cost Assignment accuracy). Collect data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material, inventory, labor, and freight to aid in variance analysis vs. Plan and Prior Year, as well as for use in financial forecasting. Analyze changes in design, manufacturing methods and materials to determine effects on costs. Reconcile and analyze changes in inventory balances.

    • Coordinate month end and year end close activities with Plant Controller. Prepare and enter of month-end journal entries. Prepare Month End Variance analysis for assigned categories. Prepare assigned analyses for corporate reporting. Work with Functional managers on understanding financial results.

    • Key Indicator reporting. Prepare Key Metrics. Provide analysis to support changes and impacts of current key indicators. Develop trend reporting for Key Metrics

    • Typical/expected % of overnight travel. >5%
