  • Amentum is seeking a Security Specialist to join our team at Ft. Belvoir. This position provides support in maintaining an effective and comprehensive Information, Personnel, Physical, and Industrial security program. Responsible for the management of personnel security clearances for a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in support of a government contract. Supports the government security specialist on SCI matters. Provide support on matters involving the processing and protection of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearances.

    Responsibilities :

    • Assist the Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) in the performance of annual lifecycle management and inspections in accordance with ICD-705 and applicable policies and procedures.

    • Assist the Special Security Officer (SSO) during Preliminary inquiries to resolve Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security incidents.

    • Developing, updating and managing Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) Records Management (SRM) such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); Emergency Plans (EP); Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCL); Tempest Checklists; Special Security Officer (SSO) Appointment Letters; IDS Acceptance Testing; UL2050 Certifications; Final Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) Punchlist; Visitors Logs; Authorized Personnel Rosters; Accreditation Letter.

    • Provide technical expertise on Intrusion Detection System (IDS) andaccess Control System requirements for the SCIF.

    • Provide supportive control and maintaining appropriate databases (e.g ISS/EQIP/NBIS).

    • Ability to read, understand and apply government regulation, policies, and procedure (DoD SAP/SCI Community and Intelligence Community directives and manuals, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, applicable ICDs, etc.).

    • Provide technical database management and administrative support to manage appropriate records and security databases.

    • Coordinate incoming/outgoing visit request, intelligence badge requests, systems account requests and SCI Requests

    • Provide security file maintenance, review and analysis as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must have an Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top-Secret Clearance .

    • Minimum six (6) years of experience

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of academic/technical/military training.

    • Ability to work and lead in a team environment with demonstrated experience in a range of security disciplines and possess excellent customer relations skills.

    • A thorough knowledge of MS Office software, especially Word and Excel.

    • Good analytical skills and be able to operate in a demanding environment while executing multiple tasks simultaneously.

    • Ability to communicate company practices clearly and effectively with executives, clients, and employees.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC)

    Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

    This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
