    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field; 4 years related experience.

    Job Summary:

    The position facilitates the gathering of noteworthy achievements in science on campus and helps translate and disseminate that information through feature articles, news releases, newsletters, social media and other communications venues.

    Job Duties:

    • Works with students and faculty to help edit and co-write publications, presentations, community outreach materials, public policy materials, and grant proposals for education, community, global health and research projects.

    • Works with the SON RISE Center team to assign and direct the development of scholarly and outreach materials.

    • Collaborates with writers, graphic designers, and publication source staff to generate ideas for photographs and illustrations.

    • Reviews all news releases and other written communications to UTMB Media Relations or to SON Deans Office Communications concerning potential news, newsletters, or feature articles on research or education innovation developments at UTMB SON.

    • Adheres to internal controls established for department.

    • All other duties as assigned.

    Salary Range:

    Actual salary commensurate with experience.
