    The R&D Engineer Scientist II - Data Scientist will work within a team of scientists that use a variety of analytical techniques in the Materials Characterization group to support characterization of materials and process streams from R&D labs and pilot plants. This position will support the development and implementation of digital solutions and data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of analytical characterization.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    -Utilize data science methodologies to analyze experimental data, interpret findings, discern trends, and derive actionable insights.

    -Develop programmatic data processing solutions leveraging analytical methods and equipment output, encompassing statistical analysis, visualization techniques, and efficient data transfer mechanisms to optimize data delivery.

    -Enhance analytical productivity through the automation of repetitive manual tasks.

    -Apply machine learning algorithms for tasks such as classification, quantification, and property prediction.

    -Collaborate closely with internal and cross-functional teams to grasp requirements and provide actionable insights for R&D projects.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    -Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

    WE VALUE

    -Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or related field

    -3+ years' experience with analytical characterization techniques, laboratory work processes and data analysis

    -Proficiency in scientific programming.

    -Familiarity with programming languages including C# (Windows Forms), Python, SQL (MS SQL Server), and Excel VBA.

    -Experience with software tools such as Visual Studio, Tensorflow/Keras, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, MatPlotLib, LabView, JMP, VBA, MATLAB, Origin, Tableau, and Power BI.

    -Proficiency in database management systems like SQL Server, Oracle, and Access for data storage, querying, and manipulation.

    -Familiarity with laboratory information systems and structured data principles, including the design of relational database tables.

    -Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

    -Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
