  • Quality Lab Supervisor - Tulare, CA

    The Quality Lab Supervisor oversees laboratory operations and procedures to guarantee accurate results while optimizing plant resources. They support the management team in maintaining the quality system and enhancing quality by maximizing the value of current resources. Additionally, they supervise and direct laboratory work across all shifts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure safety and compliance with laboratory regulations and practices.

    • Direct and coordinate employee activities for daily testing of finished goods and in-process products.

    • Analyze charts, work orders, laboratory schedules, and other records to determine testing requirements and evaluate current testing outputs.

    • Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

    • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

    • Demonstrate NIR equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign them to experienced workers for training.

    • Address worker problems, complaints, or grievances in consultation with management or subordinates.

    • Ensure products meet regulatory composition standards.

    • Manage laboratory system audits and GLP compliance, identifying areas for improvement.

    • Collaborate effectively with production personnel to assist in producing products that meet standards for identity, labeling, coding, and packaging.

    • Assist in maintaining required documentation and files for quality system and regulatory compliance, working towards achieving established plant quality objectives.

    • Other duties as required

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related field

    • 3+ years in industrial manufacturing lab experience. 2+ years' experience in a supervisory role managing direct reports.

    • Must have experience driving Process Improvements, Lean Practices, Continue Improvements or being a Change Agent.

    • Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal skills; Ability to communicate with excellent interpersonal skills.

    1st Shift (typically 8AM-5PM) - This role may require off shift hours, weekends and Holidays as needed.

    $77, 000 - $97,000 depending on experience
