    This position is telework eligible up to two (2) days per week.

    This position has the primary responsibility within BCA for purchasing equipment, supplies, and services in accordance with established State of Minnesota policies, procedures, guidelines, and sound fiscal practices. Perform data entry and maintain current and accurate records in the Statewide Integrated Financial Tool (SWIFT) procurement, vendor, and asset modules. This position is responsible for maintaining record of the BCA property (fixed/capital assets and sensitive items) so that state owned property is effectively and accurately accounted for and the division complies with the state and agency policies and requirements.

    BCA is a mission-driven state law enforcement agency with a great work culture. This position is joining a team of professionals that support all divisions within the BCA.

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. Two years* of advanced administrative support, paraprofessional, or advanced technical experience in a procurement, purchasing, and/or vendor management.

    2. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

    3. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    *A bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance, procurement, or closely related field may substitute for one year of experience. An associate's degree may substitute for 6 months of experience.

    Applicants that meet the above minimum qualifications will be further evaluated on the following

    • Communication skills to explain procedures and instructions in plain language.

    • Organizational skills to multi-task, prioritize work, and track details relevant to procurement.

    • Skills in accounting and math to accurately prepare and process financial transactions.

    • Human relation skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors.

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. Knowledge of Minnesota State statutes, policies, and procedures.

    2. Experience with the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT), or other comparable large private or governmental accounting system with purchasing functionality, or proficiency with a purchasing system.

    3. Authority for Local Purchase (ALP) at $25,000 level.

    4. Degree in accounting, business management, finance, procurement, or closely related field.

    Physical Requirements

    Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
