This position serves our partners at the Department of Corrections (DOC). The MNIT DOC team runs many unique applications that manage the information and security of the department, supporting 4,500 employees across 10 prisons and 50 field offices located throughout the state.

    As a Project Coordinator, you will provide support to the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) with portfolio management, resource planning, and project/portfolio administration. In addition, this position may assist with agency-wide projects to coordinate staff/deliverables, and to lead smaller project initiatives.

    This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last up to two (2) years.

    This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

    • Telework (~~~) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.

    • Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

    Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of project coordination experience or administrative support in a Project Management Office preferably as a Project Coordinator in Information Technology.

    Experience must include

    • Project Coordination experience

    • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

    • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

    • Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

    • Budget tracking

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Agile, Waterfall and/or Iterative project management methodologies.

    • Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

    • Project tracking coordination with multiple tasks on multiple projects simultaneously, while showing progress

    • Knowledge of project management software tools.

    • Negotiate and move groups towards consensus around difficult topics

    • Project delivery with constraints for scope, time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction

    • Azure Dev Ops (ADO, DevOps)
