    Semiconductor Manufacturing Operator

    The Operator will run fabrication equipment for processing semiconductor materials and devices under the guidance of process documentation which includes the set-up and operation of a variety of standard and special solid-state processing equipment. This includes performing various chemical, physical, photographic, and packaging processes such as deposition, metrology and etching of materials, metals plating, and wafer dicing /thinning.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for operating and monitoring equipment to process wafers through the applicable stage in the manufacturing process.

    • Responsible for inspecting the final product, cleaning the work environment, and performing data entry.

    • Responsible for recognizing when a technician or engineer is needed, in addition to making suggestions for improvement to productivity.

    • Computer/Software related tasks such as process diagnosis and interpretation using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodology.

    • Perform production processes under-documented specifications and production.

    Basic Qualifications Production Operator 1

    • High School diploma or GED

    • 1-year prior manufacturing experience or 1 year of semiconductor (cleanroom) manufacturing experience

    • Ability to wear cleanroom garments that protect hair, dry skin, etc. from contaminating the product (wafers) for extended periods.

    • Comfortable working in an ESD environment.

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

    • Good communication skills, both written and oral; ability to read and write effectively.

    • Steady eye-to-hand coordination and good observation skills.

    • Good hand and finger dexterity to handle wafers without damaging them.

    • Comfort working with and around chemicals (protective equipment and safety training will be provided).

    • Highly motivated and able to contribute effectively to a team environment and interface well with other Operators and Engineers.

    • Ability to lift, hold, move, and manipulate the wafers in a FOUP (Front Opening Unified Pod) to 25 pounds and with a vacuum wand as applicable.

    • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.

    • Computer and math skills, experience with Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

    • Ability to communicate well in English, both verbal and written.

    Salary Range: $31,200 - $45,500

    Salary Range 2: $32,400 - $54,000

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
