    Job Description

    U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Data Storage Specialist with capacity planning and support experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. This position is responsible for design, implementation, and support of Distributed Storage solutions, ensuring high performance, protection, availability, and simplified management of large and complex Fiber channel storage systems and networks.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and manage Distributed Systems FC storage solutions

    • Technology assessment, selection and roadmap

    • Present storage solutions to peer group and management

    • Assist with establishing Storage Technology selection criteria for applications

    • Leads and participates in new technology evaluations, product upgrades, hardware refreshes, and data migrations

    • Storage provisioning, reclaims, replication, migrations, and other storage needs in a timely manner to facilitate business operations for the storage network environment

    • Participate in the planning, approval, and implementation of Storage related changes

    • Involvement with Incident and Problem Management activities

    • Performance management and resource optimization

    • Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational efficiency

    • Assist with operational documentation

    • Participate in 24/7 on-call support

    • Periodically prepare a statistical analysis for business quality reviews related to the health of the environments.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

    • At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment

    • At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure

    Preferred Skills/Experience

    • 5 or more years of experience in Mainframe development, Administration and Architecture.

    • Some experience in storage system architecture and administration

    • Must have Platform and product Experience: EMC Symmetrix, DLm, FICON with Brocade, SRDF/A, SnapVX

    • Subject matter expert in Contingency and disaster recovery, Technical troubleshooting, Network and internet security

    • Proficient with DFSMS, JCL.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with other technical staff

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Excellent analytical skills for troubleshooting failures, performance issues and capacity anomalies.

    The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $116,280.00 - $136,800.00 - $150,480.00
