  • The MetroHealth System is an integrated health system with an acute care hospital housing a Level I Adult Trauma and Burn Center, a skilled nursing facility and more than 25 locations throughout northeastern Ohio. It is an outstanding public, safety-net academic medical system affiliated with Case Western Reserve University and provides medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, and vision services to diverse underserved communities in Cuyahoga County/Cleveland Ohio and surrounding areas.

    We are seeking for a Board Certified / Board Eligible Pediatrician to join the Ambulatory Division of the Department of Pediatrics to treat newborns to adolescent patients to help in preventing diseases and illness complications in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess thorough knowledge of children's diseases, epidemiology, and examination procedures; ultimately to foster long term trust relationships with the children and their parents. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.

    Requirements

    • Doctor Osteopathy (D.O.) or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) required.

    • Board Certified / Board Eligible Pediatrician

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct regular thorough examinations on patients to check and record their health and normal physical development

    • Examine sick children to determine their condition and ask intuitive questions to gather information about symptoms

    • Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history

    • Prescribe medications and give detailed instructions for administration

    • Prescribe and interpret appropriate lab tests to gain more information for possible infections or abnormalities

    • Prepare and administer vaccines according to the governmental vaccination plan

    • Examine and treat injuries and refer patients to physicians of other disciplines when necessary

    • Advise parents on children's diet, exercise and disease preventive measures

    • Keep updated records of patients' illnesses, surgeries or other medical episodes (allergic shocks, injuries etc.)
