  • RESPONSIBILITIES

    Starting Pay

    $80,000 to $85,000 annual salary

    The starting pay above may be higher commensurate with experience.

    I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops and implements a progressive rehabilitation program for patients in their homes in accordance with the principles and practices of physical therapy and the client's needs.

    • Serves as case manager and supervises home health aides and physical therapist assistants when appropriate.

    • Performs duties in accordance with policies and procedures as established by the agency.

    II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.

    • Constant: lifting maximum weight of 50 pounds, carrying usual weight of 20 pounds, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force. reaching above, at and below shoulders; repetitive arm/hand motion and frequent gripping of objects.

    • Frequent: standing, walking, stooping/bending, and twisting body.

    III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Subjected to adverse environmental conditions like blood borne pathogens.

    IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • Current Hawaii State license as a Physical Therapist.

    • Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.

    • Valid U.S driver's license, vehicle and vehicle insurance as required by Hawaii State Law.

    • Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record.

    • Current BLS certification.

    B. EXPERIENCE:

    • Knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice to treat patients.

    • Knowledge and use of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.

    • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.

    • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, and the public.

    • Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing.

    • Ability to interpret, adopt, and apply guidelines and procedures.

    • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
