System One is working with a local medical group that is seeking an experienced and compassionate Patient Advocate to join their healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in patient advocacy, with a strong understanding of insurance updates, payment plans, Medicaid enrollment, and charity care applications. This role will involve meeting with patients face to face to assist with administrative tasks and provide support in navigating the healthcare system.
Responsibilities:
Meet with patients to complete insurance updates, payment plan arrangements, Medicaid enrollment, and charity care applications
Provide support and guidance to patients in understanding their treatment options and financial responsibilities
Assist patients in signing consent forms for new treatments and procedures
Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care for patients
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and outcomes
Advocate for patients' rights and ensure they receive the highest quality of care
Qualifications:
At least three years of experience in patient advocacy or a similar role
Strong understanding of insurance policies, payment plans, and Medicaid eligibility criteria
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record system
