    The Opportunity

    WestRock has embarked on the One WestRock Business Systems Transformation initiative, a multi-year program aligned to our Path to One goals to become the world's best paper and packaging company by 2025. The MES Sr. System Analyst position is a part of our IT and Digital Business Systems Transformation technology team responsible for the overall technology Manufacturing Execution System (MES) workstream.

    This role will serve as a trusted partner, advisor and thought leader on the future state technology landscape (ERP and legacy systems environment), and systems implementation.

    This position will be responsible for maximizing the use of MES system at our paper mill locations to optimize our production processes, leveraging their expertise in MES implementation, administration, and support. We are looking for an experienced MES Sr. System Analyst to join our team with a strong focus on implementing and supporting Manufacturing Execution System (MES). They will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a track record of delivering successful MES solutions.     How you will impact WestRock

    • Work directly on development of MES Systems and interfaces, providing technical leadership, coordinate with other resources and create high quality products within the defined schedules and budgets.

    • MES project implementation, analyzing and gathering requirements and propose appropriate solutions for MES projects.

    • Becoming proficient at supporting, installing, configuring, developing MES Systems and interfaces, workflow process, troubleshooting the software and staying current with upgrades, updates, and patches.

    • Provide system application support including troubleshooting, design analysis and system configuration

    • Provide 24/7 application support in manufacturing environment

    • Work with business personnel and implementation team members to understand business needs, identify, design, and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.

    • Document related business processes, document MES system configurations and design, develop end-user instructions, develop training material along with training end users.

    • Identify improvement opportunities, work with key users to develop improvement plans, manage the plans, test, and implement.

    • Provide project management services for small-to-medium projects related to the MES Systems and related projects.

    • Provide data analysis and problem solving / troubleshooting services.

    • Work with internal WestRock IT personnel and external contractors, where required, to deliver needed functionality. Establish solid and effective working relationships in a fast-paced environment.

    • Become knowledgeable of other WestRock systems as required to effectively support the business processes that interact with the MES System.

    What you need to succeed

    • Experience with the following is required:

    • Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server writing complex stored procedures and expressions

    • Understanding of Microsoft SQL SSRS or Crystal Reports

    • Paper industry roll handling/tracking and inventory applications

    • Experience with any or all the following is desired:

    • Shop floor applications

    • Knowledge of DCS/PLC/SCADA

    • Knowledge on TCP IP, OPC and FTP Protocol.

    • Experience with report creation, maintenance, metrics, scorecards

    • Honeywell Optivision and Optimizer, Majiq Elixir, Panther Systems Mill Tools and Test Central

    • Knowledge of help desk software and help desk processes.

    • Familiar with running a mission critical application in a high availability environment.

    • Familiar with Agile / Scrum processes.

    • Ability to travel approximately 25%

    • College degree or minimum equivalent work experience of 10 years in IT, Engineering or paper mill operations business.
