    The role of the Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Program Manager requires interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements and an emphasis on the MEP disciplines.

    DCD MEP Program Manager to lead the effort in coordinating and managing the General Contractor MEP trades on major data center construction project. This candidate will work with Project team to ensure successful completion of all MEP trade work.

    • Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the General Contractor (GC) and the Architect/Engineer

    • Manage MEP scope throughout duration of the project (from Groundbreaking through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner).

    • Assist Scheduling department with developing detailed CPM schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading.

    • Review, approve, negotiate and track key MEP contracts and work closely with equipment and commission team on a commission critical path plan

    • Monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project

    • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with theGenral Contractor

    • Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed

    • Represent Microsoft in regard to the MEP process at weekly Owner's and contractors meetings

    • Supervise, develop and mentor project staff, if applicable

    • Lead and direct the 3-D BIM coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to start of installations

    • Take overall responsibility for the performance of all MEP trades

    • The DCD MEP Program Managerworks directly for the Construction Program Director (onsite). This leader supports the strategic and tactical delivery of the Milwaukee data center projects within the portfolio.

    Responsibilities

    Business Processes

    1. Create and maintain best practices to identify and incorporate cost-effective solutions.

    2. Manage GC(s) and MEP vendor performance along with their integration with internal partners to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.

    3. Facilitate decision-making to drive solutions, schedules, and manage change as required.

    4. Apply influence, strategies, and negotiation skills to identify options and recommend solutions.

    Communication

    1. Effectively communicate key needs to the program teams.

    2. Coordinate meetings and activities of MEP vendors, cost managers, and integration of lessons learned.

    3. Attend scheduled owner/architect/contractor (OAC) and other project meetings, and report as necessary.

    4. Report Project Progress on scope, schedule, and budget weekly or as required.

    5. Provide weekly project status reporting to DCD standards.

    Accountability

    1. Responsible for supporting a safe & effective site culture.

    2. Work independently in support of the DCD project.

    MEP Vendor Management and contract compliance

    1. Provide MEP Vendors oversight and performance management by walking the construction sites daily.

    2. Review and approval of MEP vendor scope of work, and design review of site and building plans.

    3. Validate MEP vendor pay-application and invoice review and approval.

    4. Manage compliance with prior audit results and recommendations.

    Qualifications

    Required /Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years related experience

    • OR equivalent experience.

    • 8+ years of experience in Construction/MEP Coordination

    Other Requirements:

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred/Additional Qualifications

    • Understanding of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systems

    • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering

    • Experienced dealing with MEP subcontracts and subcontractors

    • Have proven track record as a Project Manager on construction related projects with large MEP scopes

    **?Construction Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.**
