Mechanical Designer/drafter

Description

Proficient in SolidWorks 2019+ ? Understanding of, and ability to use, ASME drafting standards and welding call-outs ? Create 3D/CAD assemblies, models, and drawings for parts and systems, including sheet metal formations ? Assist in solution development for product designs and contract bid content ? Process engineering changes (ECNs/ECRs) and drawing updates through the QA processes ? Take measurements from COTS items or commodities and create engineering drawings for QA inspection ? Create product exploded-views or animations to support technical proposals or documents ? Create and release technical manuals, maintenance manuals, technical bulletins, and other documents ? Confer with Production to incorporate redlines through the ECN process ? Confer with the Design for Manufacturing Engineer (DME) to assure manufacturability and serviceability ? Create, update, or maintenance BOMs in the ERP system ? Working in lab and production environments which require personal protection equipment (PPE) ? Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

? 5 - 10 years of directly related work experience in product development ? 5 - 10 years of design experience using SolidWorks software (part, drawing, and weldment creation) ? Experience designing sheet metal parts and weldments ? Support in manufacturing of new products ? Solid understanding of thermodynamics and familiarity with HVAC/R systems and components ? Excellent presentation and technical writing skills ? Good oral and written communication skills; Must be able to read, write & understand English DESIRABLE ? Engineering degree ? Understanding of SolidWorks sheet metal and weldment modules ? Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) ? Experience with structural finite element analysis (FEA) ? Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) ? Experience with mean-time before failure (MTBF) calculations ? Experience with Draftsight software ? Understanding of installation or fitment of auxiliary power units (APUs) or generators ? Proficient in coordinating virtual communication meetings (i.e. MS Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.) ? Bi-lingual with fluency in Spanish
