    The Materials Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of the customer service, planning, shipping & receiving, logistics and inventory management teams for ITW. The role will lead efforts that enable flexible, efficient and cost effective services to best meet the production and shipping needs of the customers while providing accurate and appropriate inventory levels. This person will create alliances and relationships that provide the ability to achieve the optimal responsiveness and outcomes, while leading their teams to successfully meet all objectives and goals in a safe and ethical manner.

    1. Oversee development and updates of MRD targets to maintain an accurate account of raw material, work in process and finished goods inventory, in conjunction with Accounting and Customer Service goals.

    2. Prioritize and oversee scheduling of production requirements and the development of internal procedures and documentation to support the manufacturing operations..

    3. Direct and oversee activities with outside processors to enable meeting customer requirements.

    4. Build and maintain strong relationships with Supply Chain contacts at customer sites and assist Customer Service with communications to customers regarding shipping delays, and shortages as special circumstances arise

    5. Maintain outside contact with freight vendors and customer traffic personnel and negotiate cost effective and efficient freight transportation as needed.

    6. Oversee and rerport on key metrics, including on time delivery performance, premium freight, and cycle counting.

    7. Update weekly, monthly and quarterly outlook forecasts with sales, Customer Service and Accounting.

    8. Identify, prioritize, and assist in the implementation of improvement projects, which result in efficiency improvements and/or cost savings.

    9. Conduct necessary performance reviews on time, establishing appropriate accountabilities and goals.

    10. Identify training and development needs of staff, and initiate appropriate programs.

    11. Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.

    12. Complete additional duties as assigned.

    14. Communication culture focused on continuous improvement, Problem Solving, expectation, & results.

    15. Educational background consistent with the needs of the position, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field preferred.

    16. Knowledge and understanding of QAD a plus

    17. Experience working with a technical work force, and/or a background in the metal stamping and automotive industry, is preferred.

    18. Demonstrated administrative, communication and managerial skills in order to work with both internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization. Must be able to lead, manage, prioritize and deal with many and diverse issues regularly.

    19. 5-7 years of knowledge and/or experience in production/inventory control and logistics.
