Description

• Responsible for managing the creation and improvement of manufacturing processes & CNC programs.

• Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting analysis; applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout and machining procedures.

• Programmer will work across the organization to ensure timelines as well as quality goals are met.

• Technical degree is preferred but not a necessity.

• Six plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• Extensive knowledge of G-Code, conversational and other programming languages is required.

• Familiarity with Fanuc, Fadal, and Okuma machines is preferred.

• Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sketches, and understanding measuring instruments. Gibbs Cam experience preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Read blue prints to review programming specifications.

• Program and operate multi-axis machining centers

• Assist in the design of machining fixtures to improve productivity.

• Select tools and edit efficient programs for CNC machines to maximize utilization and minimize downtime of the equipment. Make offset and edit adjustments on machines.

• Identify areas of improvement for fixturing, tool paths, tooling, etc. and implement action plans.

• Assist in training of employees and the development of an entry-level machining program.

• Aid other employees in determining sequential machining operations and troubleshooting problems.

• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing process outputs and planning work flow.

• Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; and confirming manufacturing processes.

• Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; and estimating future requirements.

• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

• Provides manufacturing engineering information when responding to internal and external inquiries and maintains resolution documentation.
