Responsibilities
Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all company products and equipment
The Maintenance Specialist will perform complex diagnostics, repair equipment and perform preventative maintenance and will be available to consult or perform maintenance tasks to support 24-hour production operations
ORGANIZATIONAL SUPERVISION, REPORTING AND INTERFACE
The Maintenance Specialist reports directly to the Maintenance Manager
This position interfaces with other associates and occasionally outside vendors
Establishing, initiating, and maintaining a preventative maintenance program
Writing PLC (Programmable Logic Control) programs and troubleshooting PLC problems
Operating hand tools, power tools and specialized equipment
Troubleshooting and resolving machine/equipment problems
Interpreting diagrams, blueprints, operations manuals, and specifications
Designing, constructing, maintaining, and repairing secondary fixtures
Working with production staff to analyze inconsistent machine performance
Conducting performance testing on an as needed basis
Making sure that all equipment is operating in accordance with safety rules
Installing, modifying, and maintaining injection molding machines and all related auxiliary equipment
Completing work orders and machine record logs
Serving as the backup to the Maintenance Manager
Assisting with daily housekeeping procedures
Duties are performed indoors throughout the general production area
Employee must be able to move throughout the production floor to required works stations
Employee would occasionally move, transport, position, or install objects
Employee would occasionally ascend or descend onto machines and at times retrieving objects from floor level or working at floor level
Employee would occasionally position oneself to maintain, inspect, or install objects or equipment
Employee would occasionally be required to perform tasks at or above shoulder level and at times away from the body, occasionally with the use of tools
Employee would occasionally be required to work with minute objects to prepare, use, place, or position objects, tools, or equipment
Employee would occasionally need to inspect equipment up close or at a distance
Employee would need to identify and distinguish colors and determine distances and spatial relationships
The employee frequently communicates with others (internal or external) for various production needs and must be able to exchange accurate information

Qualifications
Above average ability to deal effectively with people throughout the company
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints with limited direct supervision
Ability to create robust processes
Familiarity with principles of carpentry, plumbing, electronics, welding, pneumatics, and machine mechanics, and machine guarding
Familiarity with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) general machine guarding requirements
Ability to read blueprints, interpret schematics, and other instructions
Mission Plastics safety training, including the handling of hazardous chemical/wastes and emergency response procedures
Trades apprenticeship/training, or equivalent
Grandview, MO 64030: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Plastic Injection Molding Maintenance: 3 years (Required)
