    The opportunity

    The Logistics Procurement team conducts bids and negotiations of more than $2.0B in spend across all modes of transportation. This position supports the logistics team with new carrier onboardings by working with legal, credit, risk, and the procurement team to ensure contracts are properly executed. The role will also support the team with rate maintenance, managing bid events, rate and data analysis, savings identification, and ad-hoc reporting.

    How you will impact WestRock

    • Support managers in bid events across multiple modes of transportation by formatting data, issuing bids to suppliers, and conducting optimization scenarios

    • Manage rate entry and maintenance across various Transportation Management Systems

    • Analyze cost-effective modes including Rail, Intermodal and Truck to benchmark rates

    • Conduct routine audits to ensure accurate rate uploads and maintenance

    • Assist Procurement with data analysis and management

    • Administer the department's internal portal for carrier services, identifying root causes, and developing action plans between carriers and facilities

    • Create and maintain carrier profiles in database and across multiple systems

    • Ensure compliance with insurance and industry certifications, while monitoring carriers' operating authority status

    • Generate weekly reports on active and approved carriers

    • Process carrier rate addendums

    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    What you need to succeed

    • Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.

    • 1 to 3 Years Logistics Experience Required

    • Experience with QlikView and Jaggaer preferred

    • Ability to multitask and manage rapidly changing deadlines and priories

    • Detail oriented with ability to mine datasets

    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present to peers and various levels of management

    • Strong analytical and conceptual skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

    • Self-motivated and able to take initiative in a dynamic, fast paced environment
