LABORER - TRANSFER STATION

Berkey's Transfer Station is looking to add an experienced Laborer to join our team in Fleetwood, PA

.

This is a FT position - 7AM to 4PM Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. This is an hourly position, with a starting rate of $18.00/HR. Slightly higher starting rates may be offered based upon your experience, skill set and overall talent.

We provide WEEKLY PAY with OT, fantastic benefits, extremely generous PTO, and a 100% matching 401K, up to your 5% contribution. We'll provide PAID on-site training for you to learn, use and operate all of our equipment.

The BEST candidate will already have the ability work as part of a TEAM, as well as work effectively at times with little or no supervision. At minimum, you must have a basic knowledge of hand tools, light building maintenance and the ability to keep our yard clean and orderly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain cleanliness of tipping floor and work areas

• General yard clean-up

• Building maintenance

• Janitorial tasks

• Direct traffic

• Spot checking for NON-ACCEPTABLE materials

• Prepping items for transfer

• Fueling & maintaining vehicles and yard equipment

• Participate in training for equipment operation

NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Must have the REQUIRED documents to legally work in the United States

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers clearly and safely

• Ability to work outside, year-round, in all weather conditions

• Ability to sweep, shovel and/or lift 50 LBS

• Ability to bend frequently

• Ability to be on your feet and walk constantly for several hours at a time
