    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Grant Accountant to join our client's team. The Grant Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    Grant Financial Management

    • Manage the financial aspects of grants from pre-award to closeout.

    • Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and revenue to ensure compliance with grant terms and regulations.

    • Prepare and review grant financial reports for submission to funding agencies and stakeholders.

    • Work closely with program managers to develop and monitor grant budgets.

    Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with grant regulations, including OMB Uniform Guidance and specific grant requirements.

    • Stay updated on changes in grant regulations and communicate relevant information to stakeholders.

    • Conduct regular audits of grant expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    Financial Reporting

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for grants.

    • Reconcile grant expenditures and revenue with the general ledger.

    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and schedules for annual audits.

    Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Assist in the development of grant budgets, including budget narratives and supporting documentation.

    • Provide financial analysis and forecasting for grant projects.

    Communication and Collaboration

    • Collaborate with program managers, finance team members, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth grant management.

    • Communicate effectively with funding agencies, grantors, and auditors regarding grant finances and compliance matters.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred.

    • Minimum of [X] years of experience in grant accounting or financial management, preferably in a non-profit or government organization.

    • Strong understanding of grant regulations, including OMB Uniform Guidance.

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Experience with federal, state, and private foundation grants preferred.
