    The Global GDC Contracting Counsel position provides legal support on global client contracting, global contracting mechanisms, and contract analysis. The position will need to gain comprehensive knowledge of global contracting issues throughout all Global Data Center locations. This position reports to the Global Contracting Lead, advises the SVP, Global Legal as requested and provides advice to other function leads, regional sales and regional legal departments.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Structure, review and negotiate client contracts as required by the business for all regions

    • Participate in the global client contracting process with oversight from the Global Client Contracting Lead

    • Responsible for initial drafting of global contracting form documents with oversight from the Global Client Contracting Lead

    • Conduct analysis of various contractual issues, including analysis of terms across multiple regions, clients and contracts

    • Advise the business on preferred contractual terms with oversight from the Global Client Contracting Lead

    • Interact with clients, internal NTT GDC departments and NTT corporate affiliates throughout the world as needed

    • Respond promptly to the demands of multiple internal client groups

    • Manage risk and ensure business and compliance needs are accurately reflected in agreement(s).

    • Advise company management of potential risks in contractual agreements.

    • Assist with the development and implementation of contract procedures and templates to improve operational efficiency

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Seasoned, experienced professional; has significant experience in client contracts and/ or commercial leasing

    • Applies advanced wide-ranging experience and in-depth professional knowledge to develop and resolve complex issues in creative ways.

    • Accountable for handling complex issues in area of core competency without oversight by senior legal manager

    • Resolves and assesses a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggests variations in approach with consultation at times from senior legal manager

    • Frequently advises key people outside own area of expertise on complex matters, using persuasion in delivering messages, with the ability to adapt style to differing audiences and often advises others on difficult matters

    • Work is done independently in area of core competency and is reviewed at critical points

    • Self-starter, well organized, effectively manages stress in a fast-paced environment and produces consistent, positive results under deadline pressure.

    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent.

    • Six (6) years or more of relevant legal experience at a law firm or in house.

    • Data center industry experience a significant plus.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Remain stationary for long periods of time

    • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment

    WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Work across multiple global time zones (including but not limited to India, Europe, South Africa, US, Japan) is required for this position which will require work outside of normal work hours

    • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

    • Responsible to carry a cell phone and provide 24x7 support as needed.

    • Travel may occasionally be required domestically and globally.

    This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device.

    NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 210,000 - $ 225,000.00.

    All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
