    Required Skills:

    Failure Analysis Engineer Lead Responsibilities

    1. Responsible for managing the electrical failure analysis lab and to generate high quality failure analysis results which aid in the root cause identification.

    2. This includes providing support to electrical, optical, mechanical, and electromechanical modules and subsystems.

    3. Evaluate schematics and layouts for NPIs, debug, and support optoelectronics design, fabrication, and characterization.

    4. This role includes managing priorities and providing technical direction to failure analysis engineers and technicians with a focus on generating high quality analytical findings, cross-correlate data from various techniques to drive towards conclusions.

    5. Innovate and improve failure analysis and reliability lab capabilities to address complex design issues and provide mitigation action.

    6. Utilize architecture, logic, circuit design and diagnosis tools to analyze and localize failing circuits.

    7. Facilitate technical community building initiatives at Meta.

    8. Deep Experience in spectroscopic analysis, electron imaging/analysis, DBFIB, Xray, magnetic imaging, thermal imaging, various electrical test equipment, and other techniques to investigate and resolve qualification fallouts and product/process non-conformances.

    9. Support analysis of interconnect, passives, and power rail failures through deep understanding of electrical parasitics, signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), skin effect, and heterogeneous architecture.

    10. Oversee and organize technical tests and deliver cross-departmental technical recommendations.

    11. Cross-correlate data from various techniques to drive towards conclusions.

    12. Requires 15-30% domestic/international travel.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. Employer will accept a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering related field and 48 months of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Experience must include 48 months of experience in each of the following:

      1. Understanding of the properties of a broad spectrum of materials (e.g. glass, ceramic, plastic, polymers, and/or adhesives)
      1. Advanced material analysis using different laboratory techniques
      1. Proficiency in the bulk and surface characterization techniques
      1. Building relationships and working cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary teams
      1. Fault isolation using state-of-the-art techniques
      1. In-depth understanding of packaging and semiconductors
      1. Cross-functional collaboration with design and quality teams
      1. Participating in research and development initiatives
      1. Providing solution-based root cause analysis to various cross-functional teams such as product design, contract manufacturers, research, and/or reliability teams
      1. Overseeing end-to-end technical projects in a cross-functional environment
      1. Developing failure analysis testing requirements.

    Public Compensation:

    $227,068/year to $231,110/year + bonus + equity + benefits
