    Job Summary:

    The Electronics Technician is a full-time, on-site position responsible for installing, maintaining repairing electronic systems and performing calibrations on instruments as required.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Possess strong knowledge and understanding of monitoring and control systems such as building management systems, fire alarm, SCADA, lighting controls and instrumentation.

    • Read and understand schematic and wiring diagrams.

    • Troubleshoot and repair of building monitoring and control system circuits.

    • Understand various communication protocols such as BACnet. Ability to adapt to proprietary standard network protocols.

    • Attend safety training classes as required. Have experience with electrical and HVAC system safety requirements and understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures.

    • Work independently or as part of a team and manage time efficiently.

    • Possess strong communication skills to interact with other technicians, engineers and building management personnel.

    • Pay attention to detail and have the ability to perform thorough testing, debugging, and documentation of system changes.

    • Familiarity with energy management systems and energy efficient practices.

    • Perform PMs, repairs and calibrations as required and maintain paper and electronic logbooks.

    • Assist and support other departments, staff and/or trade groups as needed or directed.

    • Operate Company motor vehicles and/or other equipment.

    • Maintain high standards of customer service and respond to critical situations as required.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be a US Citizen.

    • Must successfully complete a background check to include criminal and credit and obtain a government clearance.

    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Test.

    • Possess or able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance with eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information.

    • High School Diploma/GED.

    • Graduate of two-year, full-time electronic technology school OR six months military electronics school plus two years working in the maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical equipment.

    • Must have extensive knowledge of electronics principles.

    • Be capable of readily adapting to changing assignments and requirements.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Possess a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information.

    Work Conditions:

    • Normal work shift is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.

    • On call required for emergency and after-hours events.

    • Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.

    • Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm, diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.

    • Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclines, hand and soft-carpeted floors, cement, and surfaces.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stand; walk; sit; lift up to 40 lbs.; bend; reach; carry; stoop; kneel; use hand and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; speak; or hear.

    • This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, such as hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, face shields, hearing protection, work gloves, protective electrical clothing and suits, chemical gloves, respirator, and safety-toed boots for a full shift.

    • The individual must be able to read and interpret safety regulations, procedures, and hazard analysis and implement environmental, safety, and health requirements into work tasks.
