Diversified Laboratory Repair is currently seeking a Truck Driver/Delivery Personnel in the Gaithersburg, MD area.

This Truck Driver/Delivery Personnel is responsible for the installation, assembly, disassembly, and relocation of various laboratory equipment at the customer site or in the repair shop for the Life Science Solutions Diversified Laboratory Repair (DLR) team. This individual is responsible for delivering and installing new laboratory equipment into specified locations at a customer's facility, and pick-up and return laboratory equipment that was repaired within the DLR repair facility.

Works with limited supervision and is expected to solve routine operational problems without guidance, referring unusual problems to other technicians or supervisor. The work is performed under the general direction of the Warehouse Manager. This position is onsite, located in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Responsibilities:

• Receiving equipment from trucking companies.

• Loading/unloading equipment and preparing deliveries.

• Relocating, assembling, and disassembling various types of laboratory equipment.

• Installation of biosafety cabinets/hoods.

• Drain, disconnect, reconnect incubators.

• Stock truck with parts and tools as necessary to be able to perform jobs.

• Able to change plugs, line cords, etc.

• Pickup/return/deliver units to customer locations in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC area.

• Interact politely and professionally with customers daily.

• Learn area customer locations and loading dock facilities.

• Explain/describe services provided.

• Mark hours worked on each job accurately.

• Be prepared with appropriate completed service tickets, additional blank service tickets, and ticket book.

• Maintain freezer loaner chart in office.

• Maintain an organized inventory of what storage unit/units or delivery/loaner units are in the shop at both warehouses.

Work Arrangements : On-site (Gaithersburg, MD)

Additional Requirements:

• Normal working hours are 8:00 - 4:30; however, OT is occasionally required.

• Must undergo a government background check.

• Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:

• DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

• Once hired a Department of Transportation (DOT) health/physical assessment will need to be performed and a card depicting this is always carried with the employee.

• Walking for long periods of time. Employee will be walking 50% of the time on the job.

• Other physical requirements include bending, climbing, crouching, heavy lifting- 50 lbs. or more, pushing, pulling, kneeling.

• Work includes visual inspections with small parts. Attention to detail required.

• Working around hazards.

• Base Compensation: $22/hour and up.
