    As the Director, Trend Management and Value Based Programs , you will lead the strategy and initiatives that execute upon Premera's strategic direction with providers to improve total cost of care and quality outcomes to customers. This role works closely with the Vice President and Premera leadership teams to create the roadmap and manage though the company's formal planning process, alongside other leaders accountable for managing healthcare cost trends and establishing value-based programs with providers.

    The Director, Trend Management and Value Based Programs will bring a strong understanding of organizational goals and how to develop a portfolio of initiatives and programs to support organizational objectives. This role also partners directly with leaders to assess the benefits and risks across the portfolio, making recommendations regarding investments in programs and projects. This leader will manage and influence enterprise-level programs/projects, analyze complex data, and clearly articulate goals, status, issues and solutions to senior management and the portfolio leaders.

    What you will do:

    • Lead value-based program development and support the Vice President to shape the vision and future of value-based programs with healthcare providers both locally and nationally, and partner cross functionally to implement programs.

    • Lead a team responsible for developing and managing a complex portfolio of programs within a multi-year roadmap that addresses total cost of care improvement and value-based programs with providers.

    • Plan, design, and implement a trend management system that improves total cost of care across the various trend management system segments (medical cost ratio management segments), shared services groups and business segments including their respective teams.

    • Ensure that the overall program structure and processes enable the team to successfully complete their work and that deliverables achieve the strategic area goals.

    • Consult and partner with senior management and business leaders across the company to identify key business initiatives and programs outlined in strategic alternatives and recommend portfolio or program approach from business case through implementation/execution.

    • Develop and communicate expectations with success measures for teams and partners.

    • Leverage a robust measurement and reporting system and structure to define success including Key Performance Indicators that show the value of various efforts.

    • Monitor process, progress, and results to ensure Trend Management and Value Based Programs deliver value to Premera through tangible benefits and measurable outcomes both financial and non-financial.

    • Communicate both verbally and in written format (informally and formally) with all audiences within the organization including senior leaders and occasionally produce materials for the Board of Directors.

    • Consult on and oversee vendor selection (if a vendor is needed), implementation, and performance processes in accordance with Premera's vendor management framework for system solutions, external partner and/or staff augmentation efforts.

    • Demonstrate accountability for the team's successful execution of assigned programs/projects and portfolio objectives.

    What you will bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or technology management or related field.

    • Eight years in a Program/Project Management environment, or business experience, including:

    • Five years in a program environment including data analysis and reporting experience.

    • Five years of experience in healthcare trend management environments and/or value-based program development and management

    Salary Range:

    $150,000.00 - $300,000.00
