Job Description In this compelling leadership position, you will lead a team that implements, communicates, and administers core total rewards (compensation, benefits, and recognition) programs for the organization. You will partner with senior leadership to design the strategic roadmap for the company and empower the team to execute on the strategy. You will advise management on compensation and benefits programs and issues affecting current and prospective employees and interpret policies and program features. You will serve as a representative of the unit and hire, train, and develop staff.

The Director, Total Rewards role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
Lead employees performing core compensation or benefits functions for the firm. Ensure close communication across the team with an eye to high employee engagement and morale. Ensure work products are timely, accurate, consistent, and comprehensive.
Strongly support the VP, Total Rewards on strategic initiatives, act as a thought partner on key deliverables and communication to the firm.
Direct the strategic planning and administration of cyclical compensation and benefits processes, audits and reviews (e.g. Salary Planning Adjustment ("merit") and JCP (promotion and job change) process, open enrollment, internal and external audits, etc.) with the ability to influence any overall strategic changes.
Assist with the review and potential redesign of our overall benefits and compensation processes as we implement Workday scheduled to go-live in mid-2025.
Coordinate with the HR Service Center to drive strategic alignment between groups, particularly as it relates to employee benefits programs.
Support the executive compensation processes and strategic relationship with FHFA as needed.
Partner with Benefits Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis to design best in class model and implement overall cost management processes.
Serve as a representative of the unit with HR generalists, business unit management, internal oversight functions and external stakeholders. Manage governance for the unit, including policy, procedure and practices oversight.
Work with Compensation team to confer with business units who are planning or executing a major staffing increase, organizational change, or realignment of staffing to ensure adherence to compensation policies and achievement of compensation objectives consistent with those policies.
Provide thought leadership and analytical expertise on complex issues.
Serve as an escalation point for questions on the interpretation of program features for the organization's compensation and benefits programs.
Track legislation and regulatory matters affecting employee benefits and compensation and help to assess effects on how the organization's programs should be designed, reported, communicated and administered.
Confer with vendors representing a variety of benefits and compensation support services, consulting organizations, market data aggregation and display firms, and the like to communicate the company's needs and interests.
Qualifications *THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences*
8 years of related compensation and benefits experience
Experience designing and administering employee benefits, paid time off, and work/life plans in a self-insured environment
Experience staying abreast of the changing regulatory environment for benefits and setting a long-term benefits strategy that considers employee value and business considerations
Experience solving complex compensation issues through quantitative and qualitative analysis
Proven ability to take a consultative approach while balancing customer and business objectives
Prior people management experience with proven ability to effectively develop the team's skills, provide feedback, and encourage development
Able to handle day-to-day operations as well as set and implement longer-term objectives
Proactive problem solver capable of achieving results in a collaborative environment
Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audiences, including senior management
Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint
Desired Experiences
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change in effort to meet strategic objectives
Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar
Strong Relationship Management skills, including experience managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, contracting, etc.
Experience with Performance Measurement processes, including evaluating programs, and defining and measuring KPIs, particularly as it relates to compensation
Experience conducting, developing, and evaluating training and instructional design
Experience with Business Process Management including business process modeling, process design and implementation
