    Job Purpose

    The Director, Creative Services is responsible for driving creative excellence, developing and transforming concepts into creative solutions, reinforcing messaging, managing the designers and writers, and ensuring marketing objectives are achieved. The Director, Creative Services is also responsible for leading the brand integration within advertising and marketing communications programs. The Director will drive brand objectives and principles throughout our programs and ensure brand identity and messaging is consistent across all channels and audiences and throughout Jackson.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Provides creative direction for Distribution Marketing designers and writers, ensuring that all work is of high quality and on-brand.

    • Manages the associates responsible for creative content; including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

    • Conducts copywriting as necessary and/or capacity constraints require.

    • Influences and leads the broader Jackson organization in implementation of the brand and alignment to all brand standards.

    • Collaborates with business partners (product and channel support) as they develop and execute on their business plans, consulting with them on overall strategic direction of the Jackson Brand.

    • Leads creative team to deliver creative marketing materials and solutions based on business objectives across audiences.

    • Infuses Jackson's brand identity within all marketing collateral, applying both visual and verbal components and evolving the messaging and visual execution over time.

    • Focuses the creative team on innovative and digital-led design efforts.

    • Ensures all elements of a project plan and overall campaign are executed on time and on budget with appropriate compliance. Refines and develops new workflow processes and systems to better meet high-volume, high-quality creative.

    • Predicts, plans, and manages resource capacity on a weekly, quarterly, and annual basis.

    • Continually strives to upskill the team, encouraging modernization and more strategic thinking.

    • Provides team with clear career pathing and opportunities to develop.

    • Works with Distribution Marketing leadership team to align all creative efforts from strategy to content to digital.

    • Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members and drive exceptional creative content.

    • A passion for creative thinking and the ability to lead and cultivate in others the pursuit of creative solutions rooted in brand identity, deep understanding of audience needs, and business context.

    • Strong understanding of the regulated environment of the financial services industry.

    • Ability to see the "big picture" and how all departments within the company are connected and work together.

    • Ability to write copy for product and other marketing collateral.

    • Ability to lead a team to deliver on Jackson's brand and creative excellence.

    • Ability to lead complex projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

    • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, active listener, and an ability to communicate at all levels across the company.

    • Strong presentation skills in both large and small group settings, ability to speak/write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles to a variety of audiences.

    • Independent worker with drive and ability to thrive under uncertainty.

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and within tight timelines.

    • Strong organization and attention-to-detail skills (strong tactical and strategic execution).

    • The ability to be flexible and professional while effectively managing multiple projects/tasks.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree required.

    5+ years of experience working with or managing creative teams at brand agencies or marketing-driven organizations required.

    Prior management and/or leadership experience required.

    Experience in both B2B and B2C, including working with financial services and/or insurance intermediaries preferred.

    Experience managing vendor relationships within creative services .
