  • Overview

    Responsible for the oversight and management of centralized business operations across the Joint Commission enterprise. Collaborate with leadership across the organization to establish, coordinate, and execute plans to address operational challenges within and across product and service lines and the support departments, ensuring that solutions implemented address root causes and result in efficient and effective programs/processes to meet the current and future needs of the enterprise.

    Strategic operations advisor tothe COO, providing insights and recommendations to drive operational excellence. Assist the COO in the administration and management of operational, financial, budgeting, and strategic planning activities across the enterprise. Analyze current enterprise operational processes and performance, recommending solutions and executing plans for improvement. Provide data driven insights to assist in decision-making, conducting research and analysis on various operational issues and presents findings to support well-informed choices. Establish, track, and maintain metrics and KPIs for evaluating the effectiveness of operational activities and strategic projects.

    Responsible for ensuring the ongoing development and maintenance of Enterprise operating policies and procedures, including those that relate to the Global Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR) and Records Retention processes.

    Manage the team and the corporate communication line(s) and/or channels used to effectively support and service our external stakeholders, including patients.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for evaluating and updating enterprise business continuity plans. Ensure the enterprise maintains and regularly updates these plans across all departments. Implements testing of the plans based on various scenarios. Works with external organizations to perform regular audits of the process.

    • Identify and implement process improvements and enhancements to operational processes across the enterprise, including the corporate communication lines/channels used to interact with external stakeholders related to our mission, products, inquiries and/or complaints. Process improvements include the elimination of redundancies both on back and front-end work, ensuring consistency in implementation across all departments and the elimination of duplicative work and workarounds.

    • Oversee the management, SOPs, and team that service the corporate communication phone lines/channels used for our accredited and certified organizations, key stakeholders, and healthcare patients to contact our corporate office. Ensure exemplary service is provided within these lines/channels and that there are streamlined processes to collect complaint information with timely follow-up. Ensure process and technologies are implemented to allow individuals outside of the Joint Commission enterprise to seamlessly contact the Joint Commission and receive prompt service and response. Develop and track metrics of success.

    • Ensure that KPIs are established, tracked, and reported for all key enterprise operational projects and operational functions.

    • In collaboration with Senior Leadership, ensures that project plans and KPIs are developed and tracked for strategic initiatives and corporate priorities to clearly show progress towards the attainment of goals; evaluates and reports progress of project plans on an on-going basis.

    • Oversee adherence to the Global Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR) processes and Records Retention policies.

    • Establish and maintains metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of current operational activities. Develops and executes plans to address operational challenges across product and service lines. Develops and implements operational reporting needs across the organization.

    • Oversee the division budget planning process. Responsible for annual budgets. Directs the budget development process for Facilities and coordinates budgets across all divisional teams and programs. Assist the COO in the preparation of annual budgets, phasing, forecasts and projections and variance reporting for all divisional revenue and expenses.

    • Identify key items and drafts agendas for all monthly enterprise operations meetings ensuring supporting materials are developed and disseminated. Back up to lead these meetings in the absence of the COO.

    • Performs special projects, as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.

    • 10+ years of business operations leadership experience with an emphasis in organizational planning, budgeting, project management, data analysis, and people management.

    • Superior knowledge and proven skills demonstrating:

    • Budgeting and financial management

    • Statistical methods & analysis

    • Creating and operationalizing project plans

    • Process improvements and efficiencies

    • Large scale project management

    • Results oriented with demonstrated strong project and process management skills, including the ability to collaborate with and synthesize activities that involve a wide range of individuals and groups, and/or health care organizations. Ability to balance multiple & complex multiple projects/priorities with tight deadlines to achieve desired outcomes/goals.

    • Strong financial, project management, interpersonal, and change management skills, including the ability to influence at all levels in an organization.

    • Strategic business perspective with strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • Managerial ability to plan, organize and implement multiple initiatives/projects within established budgets in a changing business environment.

    • Excellent people management, mentoring, and coaching skills.

    • Strong collaboration and leadership skills demonstrated by the ability to motivate and influence individuals and work teams.

    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to give presentations, and produce written documents and reports.
