    Direct Service Professional (DSP)

    RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma or Equivalency

    • Valid Driver license

    • Ability to drive an organizational vehicle

    • Act 33/34/73 clearances

    • Pre-employment drug screen

    SCHEDULE:

    This Direct Service Professional/floater position is an evening schedule. Colleagues in this position will work at one of our three personal care homes every Friday and Saturday evening from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and 1 additional evening shift each week of their choosing (based on program availability). The days and times you work will remain the same, but your work location can change between the three homes. You will always know where you are reporting in advance!

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • Our Direct Support Professionals (DSP) provide assistance, medication administration, hygiene support and training to adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness in our residential locations.

    • We're looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.

    • The DSP would work among the three personal care homes. These are located in Wilkinsburg, West Mifflin, and Munhall.

    • A benefit of this position is the ability to work with many different colleagues, at different location, to support residents of varying abilities.

    • DSPs can expect to assist with varying tasks at each site, this is based on the needs of the residents at each of the homes. Each of the sites has unique residents and staffing.

    • While required daily tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the residents and site are of utmost importance, this position offers many opportunities to engage with the residents both on site and out in the community.

    • Along with daily interactions and conversations, staff are highly encouraged to help support the residents' well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both and on and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that support their social and personal well-being.
