    F airview Health Services is hiring a casual CT Technologist to join our CT Scanner department at our M Health Fairview Northland Hospital location in Princeton, MN.

    The CT Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

    Schedule : The CT casual position requires 2 shifts a month which could include days, evenings or night shifts. Weekend shifts are not required, but there is some flexibility if the casual employee chooses to pick up weekend shifts to fulfill the two shift/month requirement.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes

    Identifies relevant data from images accurately

    Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs

    Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional

    Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety

    Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness

    Verify patient identification and documentation

    Connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam

    Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol

    Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures

    Ensures patient data integrity

    Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures

    Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes

    Follows infection control guidelines

    Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members

    Responds appropriately to emergent situations

    Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving

    Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances

    Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution

    Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure

    Participates as an active team member

    Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives

    Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position

    Cleans and maintains room and supplies

    Provides coordinated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.

    Contributes to a positive work environment.

    Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

    Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly

    Maintains a high level of proficiency

    Accepts new technology as it's introduced into the facility

    Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations

    Qualifications

    Required:

    Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

    Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be current before hire date and from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

    Preferred:

    1 or more years of experience in a related role

    Additional certifications in Imaging

    Additional Requirements (must be acquired or completed within a period of time):

    Understanding of current MN Dept of Health Regulations. Knowledge of quality control and safety standards. Previous ambulatory care experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills. Due to differences in scope of care, practice or services across settings, the specific experience required for this position may vary.
