Controller

Description

Robert Half is recruiting for a strong Controller Consultant for a Non-profit organization in the Long Beach area. The consultant will be responsible for an efficient and accurate month-end close process. This includes balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all subledgers and reports match the general ledger, preparing any adjusting journal entries and preparing financial reports.

In addition, the consultant will assist with external audit preparation of audit schedules, documenting SOPs, and assisting the CFO in board meeting presentation preparation. This role will be located onsite in Long Beach, CA.

Skills

• Knowledge of SAGE 100 preferred

-Non profit experience or fund accounting

• Knowledge of US GAAP

• Experience with external audit preparation

• Intermediate Excel experience is required (VLookUps, Pivot Tables)

-Ability to communicate with all levels of management in a cross functional team environment

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role within the Non-Profit sector.

• Proficient in using Sage 100 accounting software.

• Demonstrable experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation.

• Expertise in preparing Audit Schedules.

• Proven ability in Financial Reporting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing a finance team.

• Commitment to ethical standards and high level of integrity.

• Understanding of non-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
