CNC Lathe Machinist

Description:

Our staff is currently hiring for a Lathe Machinist Leader. You'll machine details from a plate or flat stock according to blueprints to exact dimensions and to details of various shapes and materials. The company you'll be working for produces hot runners, for the plastic injection industry. Hot runners consist of various materials, steel, copper, nickel, etc.

Leader:

Most of the characteristics will be the same, as in experience in setups, operation, quality control, and editing programs. The Leader will be responsible for being in charge of 4 to 7 employees (4 Production Lathe plus I added 3 Component Lathe for the future once trained and comfortable on the Production side). This will include daily scheduling for their team. Troubleshooting (strong troubleshooting skills are definitely a plus!) throughout the shift. Doing nightly Quality inspections. Training of employees when necessary. And utilizing good communication between Shift leaders (Day and Night shift) to keep the department productive.

Other general job duties include:

• Read measuring tools

• Sharpen cutting tools

• Perform own set-ups

• Download programs and alter if necessary

• Machine material to print

• Use of overhead crane

Shift:

• 2nd shift 3:30 pm to 12 am

• 48 hours/week right now 10% SHIFT PREMIUM

• Working 6 hours on Saturdays when needed; 2pm-8pm for 2nd shift

• 1st shift machinist role is also available

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 4 years of 3-axis lathe experience

• Blueprint reading

• Ability to read digital micrometers and calipers

• Ability to edit of Haas/Fanuc controls to program

• Ability to edit G&M codes

Nice to Have:

• Programming experience
