    Interested in working in Carpentry and making a difference in healthcare? The Carpenter keeps doors, windows, hardware etc. in good working order, works on minor remodeling projects and builds counters and cabinets as needed. This role performs assignments following industry accepted procedures and hospital and department guidelines in order to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    • Responsible for the construction of rough and finished carpentry, repair and installation of locks, doors and windows.

    • Construct and maintain all types of woodwork and structural framework according to established procedures.

    • Confirm dimension on projects to conform to accurate size and ensures all projects are square, level and plumb according to plan

    • Installs and inspects fixtures and accessories in accordance with all codes and installation instructions

    • Demonstrates knowledge and skills of carpentry techniques in cabinet making, refinishing, floor and wall repair, glass replacement, operating hardware etc.

    • Maintains sufficient inventory of materials and supplies based on routine and scheduled projects.

    • Cut keys and maintain key control records.

    • Ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    • An associate degree or vocational/technical training

    • 5yrs of experience in finished carpentry

    • Creativity and design skills

    • Experience of using hand and power tools

    • Joinery or cabinet-making skills

    • Knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to

    Preferred

    • Apprenticeship in carpentry
