    C2 Ground Systems Engineer (Top Secret)

    KBR is searching for a C2 Ground Systems Engineer to support development of first-of-kind space missions at the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO). A successful candidate will have a strong background in integrating new capabilities, provided by multiple vendors, into existing architectures and C2 networks. The candidate should also be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a high-profile, fast-paced environment. The candidate will apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.

    In this position, you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space RCO at Kirtland AFB, NM. The Space RCO is one of three US Space Force acquisition organization and is the one specializing in delivering first-of systems to fill quick-turn needs to deliver operational capability to the USSF. For each project, they set up small, agile, and empowered teams to include program manager, technical specialists, contracting, finance, security, and the right acquisition strategies to set the effort up for success.

    Role and Responsibilities*

    • Manage and oversee the Contractor's design and development of the Tactical Command and Control (TacC2) software application(s).

    • Provide general project management and technical leadership for software engineering activities.

    • Monitor and make recommendations to the Government Program Manager (GPM) and program technical team to ensure the best practices for software development for cloud-native software.

    • Ensure the Contractor meets project/department milestones/goals, adheres to approved budgets, and/or makes recommendations to the GPM as to corrective actions.

    • Manage interfaces with other acquisition organizations and USSF systems, ensuring interoperability to meet USSPACECOM mission requirements.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Education Requirements*

    Required skills

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software coding and 1 to 3 years of experience developing software solutions to meet Government customer requirements.

    • Minimum of 2 years leading software development teams, including design, coding, and testing experience.

    • Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, and C/C++.

    • Experience in AWS or Azure frameworks..

    • Familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps procedures.

    • Knowledge of and experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Authorization to Operate (ATO), and Approval to Connect (ATC) processes.

    Desired skills

    • 10 years of experience developing software solutions for Government customers

    • Familiarity working with contracting officers on various types of contracts (e.g., Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Cost Plus Incentive Fee, etc.).

    • Working with various government agencies to deliver a Command and Control (C2) system with multiple security level enclaves.

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.

    • Solid understanding of DoD Acquisition and Development processes.

    • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

    • Highly effective communication and presentation skills.

    • DevOps Engineer (with >2 years of experience in configuration control, testing, security, automation, containerization, orchestration, and cloud services open source technologies).

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.

    Clearance

    • Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) and special access program (SAP) eligibility.

    • Candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment and willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph.

    Location & Travel:

    • This position is full-time, on site at Kirtland AFB, NM and will require travel up to 25% of time within the continental United States
