    Breast Surgery Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) Opportunity - Danbury, Connecticut - 60 Miles from New York City

    Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, has as excellent opportunity for a full-time, experienced Breast Surgery Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Danbury, Connecticut. The Advanced Practitioner will see patients independently in our outpatient office, following a Monday-Friday office schedule with some phone call. Danbury is located about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State.

    The ideal candidate will be a board certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with strong training and experience in breast surgery. The role includes collaborating with the Breast Team side by side to ensure appropriate patient follow up as well as communication with patients' PCP, managing a patient panel, and evaluating and administering plans and care to postoperative patients as well as seeing long-term follow up patients. This position requires a minimum formal education of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant training, State of CT license, and Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance Registration. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, as well as allowances for CMEs and Dues.

    Specific responsibilities include

    ·Assesses the condition of the patient in the breast surgery practice by examination. Reviews with the patient the medical history and physical data from the patient's medical record. Establishes a new treatment plan or reinforces the current plan.

    ·Orders the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures required to evaluate the state of the patient's medical condition.

    ·Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriateness of the therapeutic treatment plan.

    ·Consults with supervising physicians in accordance with the practice's policies and medical standards to assure patient and physician satisfaction.

    ·Records all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient's chart and signs the record.

    ·Instructs the patient and family regarding the patient's diagnosis, testing, expected outcome and future prevention.

    ·Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results with the patient through phone calls and return visits.

    ·Performs total quality improvement processes and initiatives to achieve the Practice's and hospital's mission.

Our office is located minutes away from Danbury Hospital, including Praxair Cancer Center.

    $105,000/yr. -$150,000/yr. (commensurate with experience)
