    We are currently seeking an Assistant Vice President, MEP Program Manager out of our Irvine, California, office.

    As an Assistant Vice President with us, you will lead a diverse group of engineers from project initiation through completion. As a member of our team, you will lead Properties and Buildings client-centric multi-site projects consisting of multi-discipline teams of employees in design and engineering, including Architectural, MEP, Technology, Structural, and Civil - as well as other WSP Business Lines. You'll play an integral role in forming long-term client relationships and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts. You'll provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.

    Your Impact

    • Lead teams of Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, Construction Managers, and other staff through the execution of multiple large complex projects for a common client.

    • Prepare project work plans, proposals, and schedules and obtain management/client approval.

    • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status and quality and proactively resolve issues.

    • Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients and vendors, regulatory authorities and technical agencies, and the public. This role involves keeping the stakeholders informed of progress and issues, managing expectations on all project requirements and deliverables, and meeting the various project schedules.

    • Address change management matters promptly and professionally with clients and internal departments.

    • Maintain awareness of project budget maintenance, key performance indicators, and forecasting.

    • Lead and manage business development initiatives, including Requests for Qualifications and Requests for Proposals.

    • Compile comprehensive and realistic scope of work and assist in preparing fee estimates.

    • Provide general administrative and technical leadership and maintain all project records.

    • Schedule and facilitate all project meetings required to coordinate work activity successfully.

    • Administer sub-consultant agreements as assigned.

    • Implement and manage the WSP Quality Control Plan for each project.

    • Proactively track and report workload management throughout the execution of projects.

    • Manage client and sub-consultant invoicing.

    • Manage a group of Project Coordinators and Junior Project Managers.

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • The ideal candidate has experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in an engineering consulting environment. Candidate thrives in an extremely fast-paced and ever-changing environment requiring flexibility, pivoting, and an open-minded approach.

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or project management.

    • 10+ years of experience in Project or Program Management.

    • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of project professionals, concurrently managing issues, scope, and quality while successfully completing projects within the cost and time requirements.

    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including experience making presentations to senior management.

    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people from various disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

    • Strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinking and decision-making skills.

    • Adaptability and flexibility, including managing deadline pressure and adapting to ambiguity and change.

    • Proficiency with computer office productivity (i.e., MS Office Suite), AutoCAD, and project management software tools.

    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Professional Engineering License in CA and other States besides California.

    • Project or Program Management Professional certification (i.e. PMP).

    • Experience in an engineering consulting environment.

    • Experience in project planning, cost management and schedule management, and methods of analyzing and reporting project performance on financial and other KPIs

    Compensation

    Expected Salary (all locations): $133,400 - $198,220

    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
